"Right! I almost forgot your world was going through that." The sad part is she did. It can't be helped when you live in the chaos of her world. The universe dies and gets reset a lot. Kamala may not remember it, but somewhere deep down everyone knows something went wrong along the way. "But, we'll definitely make it home. We have super smart people on the case like Karen and Joe."

She asks, drawing her hair out of her face. She knows Karen, but the second name is unfamiliar.

"The detective? He found my bangles." Kamala holds up her wrist to show them off; all fused together to make them almost look like armor. "He's like one of those noir guys who lost everything over a case, but still pursued it anyways? Super cool if you ask me... You know minus the part where he lost everything."

[veristitalian]

"A good story that would be extremely unpleasant to live?"

She checks, since she's missing a cultural reference there or two. She comes over to peer at the bangles.

"What are they?"

It's clearly not just ornamental.

Kamala is so confused by the question. "A wedding gift to the bride? She passed them down to her daughter and then her daughter's daughter, and then you get the picture."
